Raising the Bar at Bodhi Work: Samantha Oetting Earns National Board Certification

Big news from the studio—our founder, Samantha N. Oetting, has just become Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (BCTMB), the highest voluntary credential in the massage profession. Board certification is granted by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) only after a practitioner proves they’ve met—or exceeded—stringent national standards: a current state license, 750+ hours of education, passage of a comprehensive exam, a criminal-background check, and a signed commitment to NCBTMB’s Code of Ethics and anti-human-trafficking pledge.

Why This Matters for Clients

At Bodhi Work, “relaxing” and “high-quality” are not opposites; they’re inseparable. Samantha’s new credential reinforces the clinical rigor behind every treatment. You can expect:

  • Evidence-informed massages that integrate advanced Thai techniques, post-operative Manual Lymphatic Drainage, and precise deep-tissue work.

  • Safety first: strict hygiene, ethical boundaries, and treatment plans grounded in anatomy—not trends.

  • Personalized luxury: sessions that feel restorative and indulgent while targeting your unique goals.

Why This Matters for Future Students

We’re equally passionate about elevating massage education. As Samantha curates new continuing-education courses—starting with a hybrid, board-ready Manual Lymphatic Drainage program and in-house Thai Massage intensives—her paralegal background ensures every class is:

  • Meticulously organized: crystal-clear objectives, timelines, and assessment criteria.

  • Legally compliant: materials that satisfy state licensure rules, scope-of-practice boundaries, and intellectual-property guidelines.

  • Inclusive of diverse learning styles: balanced lectures, hands-on labs, and visual aids so every learner thrives.

Our Mission, Reaffirmed

Board certification isn’t a finish line; it’s a launchpad. We will continue to:

  1. Deliver premium massage experiences that blend science, skill, and soul.

  2. Grow a learning community where therapists leave confident, competent, and ethically grounded.

  3. Push the profession forward by investing in research-backed techniques and sharing them widely.
