Who Is This Course For?
Thai 1 is designed for licensed massage therapists at any stage of their Thai massage journey.
You belong in this room if you are:
An LMT who has never studied Thai massage and wants to learn it properly — from theory and lineage through a complete, practiced sequence.
An LMT with prior Thai training who needs more mat time, wants to fill in gaps, or simply never felt like the work settled into your body the way it should.
An LMT who works primarily on a table and wants every technique translated — not approximated — for the way you actually practice.
Non-Licensed Participants: Yoga teachers, PTAs, and non-licensed bodyworkers are welcome on a case-by-case basis. Enrollment is open to:
Current Yoga Teacher Training students or YTT alumni of Zion Well
Movement/Fitness Trainers known to the Bodhi Work
Individuals who can demonstrate comprehensive working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology
This course involves hands-on clinical work with real bodies. For the safety of all students, we are not able to accommodate general population learners without a foundational clinical background. A one-day introductory format for general audiences is coming soon.

Your Instructor
Samantha N. Oetting, LMT, MLD-C, BCTMB has been practicing Traditional Thai Massage since 2018, building her foundation under the tutelage of American-based LMTs affiliated with SVG Thai Massage school in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
In 2023, Samantha traveled to Chiang Mai for advanced study — completing intensive 1-on-1 training in Advanced Thai Massage and Sen Sip with Thai Masters Aire and Master Parawat Poungpiam (PP) at SVG School. November 2025, Master PP gave his blessing for Samantha to teach Thai Level 1 and Level 2. That blessing is not a formality. It is the way this work has always been passed on, and it is the foundation this course is built on.
Samantha's hands-on teaching experience includes 120+ hours of Level 1 & 2 internship and assistantship, and she has trained Bodhi Work LMTs directly in-house. That proximity to newer practitioners — watching what clicks, what doesn't, and where people get stuck — shaped how she teaches. She understands what students are actually looking for, and she built the table modification track specifically for therapists who do their best work off the floor.
Outside of Thai massage, Samantha teaches and practices Manual Lymphatic Drainage(Vodder). Both modalities are slow, methodical, and demand genuine presence. That shapes her approach in the classroom: less rushing through material, more time in the work. Expect a slower-paced training with more practice than you think you need — which is exactly how much you need.
