  • Massage therapy offers a range of benefits that extend beyond mere relaxation, impacting both physical and mental well-being. Here are some of the most significant advantages supported by recent research:

    1. Stress Reduction and Mental Clarity: Massage therapy is highly effective in reducing stress by lowering cortisol levels and increasing serotonin and dopamine, which are essential for maintaining a balanced mood. This relaxation not only helps with stress but also promotes mental clarity and a positive outlook (Mayo Clinic Health System)(The Good Body).

    2. Pain Management: Whether it's chronic pain from conditions like arthritis or acute discomfort from injuries, massage therapy can significantly alleviate pain. Regular sessions have been shown to improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and enhance flexibility, which are crucial for pain relief and faster recovery (Mayo Clinic Health System) (The Good Body).

    3. Improved Circulation and Immune Function: Massage stimulates blood flow, which helps in delivering oxygen and nutrients to cells while removing waste products. Additionally, it promotes lymphatic circulation, which is essential for a healthy immune system. This can lead to an increase in white blood cells, enhancing the body's ability to fight off infections (The Good Body) (The Professional Massage Academy).

    4. Better Sleep Quality: Regular massage has been linked to improved sleep quality, particularly for those suffering from insomnia. The relaxation induced by massage can help individuals fall asleep faster and enjoy a deeper, more restorative sleep, which is vital for overall health (Mayo Clinic Health System) (The Good Body).

    5. Enhanced Emotional and Psychological Well-being: Beyond the physical benefits, massage therapy is known for its profound impact on emotional health. It helps reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, offering a drug-free, non-invasive way to improve mental health. The release of "feel-good" hormones like oxytocin during massage also contributes to an enhanced sense of well-being (Mayo Clinic Health System) (The Professional Massage Academy).

Incorporating massage therapy into your routine can lead to comprehensive health benefits, making it a valuable component of both preventative and therapeutic care.

  • We understand that cost is a significant factor in your decision-making process. We believe in transparency and affordability. At the bare minimum, we recommend a session once a quarter. However, if you can comfortably afford a massage, we suggest booking a session at least once a month.

We understand that everyone's wellness journey is unique. That's why we offer flexible options to cater to your specific goals and lifestyle. Depending on your needs and preferences, you can choose to have a massage bi-weekly or even weekly, putting you in control of your wellness routine.

  • We offer several different service types:

    • Thai Massage

      • Thai bodhiwork is a traditional healing practice combining acupressure, stretching, and trigger point therapy. It's performed on a firm mat or table with the recipient wearing loose clothing, allowing for greater movement and flexibility. It's a hands-on approach where the practitioner uses their body to guide the recipient into various positions, enhancing overall circulation, flexibility, and relaxation.

Our practitioners have trained in Thailand or closely with accredited teachers.

    • Advanced Sevices: 105, 120, and 180 Minutes

      • Our advanced massage services are designed for clients seeking a comprehensive and deeply therapeutic experience. These extended sessions are expertly delivered by Licensed Massage Therapists (LMTs) with over 5 years of hands-on practice. Each therapist holds specialized certifications and has undergone extensive training, including studies in Thailand and other international centers of massage excellence. These sessions can either be a combination of our individual services or an extended, in-depth version of them, tailored to meet your specific needs.

  • Massage Therapy generally has a relaxing and enjoyable effect on the body. However, your LMT may find a trigger point, an adhesion, or bound fascia. If done correctly and approached with care, massage therapy may have moments of discomfort. But remember, these are always followed by a profound sense of relief and ease.

If the discomfort rises to the level of distress and pain, communicate with your LMT immediately.

At Bodhi Work, our best and most influential work is done when your body remains in a state of parasympathetic rest. Your nervous system plays a primary role in communicating with your muscles to relax.

You should never cross the threshold of pain, causing your nervous system to go into fight-or-flight.

  • At Bodhi Work, our services prices are competitive with the local market, and based on the years of experience and additional education of the LMTs you book with:

    • 30 Minutes - $55

    • 45 Minutes - $75

    • Introductory 60 Minute Thai Massage - $70

    • 60 Minutes - $95

    • 75 Minutes - $125

    • 90 Minutes - $145

    • Advanced Thai 90 Minutes - $170

    • Luxury Combo 105 Minutes - $200

    • Advanced 120 Minute Sessions - $230

    • Advanced 180 Minute Session - $350

  • Unfortunately, we do not accept insurance. Most insurance companies do not cover massage therapy. Moreover, using a medical billing provider is burdensome for small businesses as it takes a long time to collect money back. It is easier for clients to submit their receipts for massage therapy services to their insurance provider for reimbursement.

Best practices: Clients who receive massage therapy reimbursements from their insurance company receive a prescription from their PCP or health care provider prescribing massage therapy (or manual therapy) for pain management. Check with your insurance company to see if Massage Therapy or manual therapy is covered under your plan.
